Geez, that was the busiest weekend I've had in a long time.  I've got a lot to cover.

After taking a few more shots with the Tamron lens during Nisei Week, I decided to trade it in. This lens performed better than the last lens, but it wasn't consistent enough for me. I don't think it was particularly strong at shooting action. Some of the shots were spectacular, but 2.8 it was still soft, but acceptible for putting up a small sized ( Read more... )

Yesterday, I purchased a Nikon MSV-01 "Coolwalker".  It's a 30GB photo storage device.  I've been wanting one of these things.  It will be really handy for cons that I have to travel to, like Fanime and Ani-Magic.  Although I have 3GB worth of memory cards, I specifically wanted it because I only have a single 1GB high-speed card.  I can easily use ( Read more... )

I've been looking to replace my Strobframe Quickflip.  I'm looking into getting a camera rotation bracket so that the flash head stays horizontal in portrait orientation and the shutter button is on the top of the camera.  I tried the Stroboframe Cameraflip and I really didn't like it.  The Nikon SB-800 with 4 batteries is fairly heavy and the ( Read more... )
